The Dutch composer/alto saxophone player Paul van Kemenade (winner highest jazz awards in the Netherlands) invited Sonti to collaborate in his project "the South African Connection" together  with the South African musicians Feya Faku (trumpet/flugelhorn), Sydney Mnisi (tenor sax) and Bheki Khoza (guitar). Together they did two very succesfull tours in the Netherlands during 2004 and 2005. New compositions were  played, made by Sonti, Paul, Feya, Sidney and Bheki.   Decissions were made to record some of these compositions and at the end of 2006 this new cd is released under the name Mexi Cosi.

The music created in this project is build on a colourfull base of Southern Aftrican music styles and           European improvised music. The "sharp as a razor blade" sound of van Kemenade, together with the  beautifull lyrical sound of Feya, the great tenor of Sydney and Sonti with her fantastic and impressive           voice make this album together with the others, to a succes. example
